7 Day Detox Diet

By Dilcindo S.

What goes into the body determines how a person will feel and how the body will perform. The human body takes on a lot and there are times when it could use a good cleansing. In just a week, the body can be cleansed of all toxins and it can be done by changing what goes into the body. The following tips will help anyone construct a diet that puts only good things into the body and leaves anyone feeling great afterwards.

7 day detox dietThe body needs to stay hydrated by consuming no less than two liters of water each day. Water is useful for flushing toxins out of the body that will slow the body down and leave it bloated. It’s also helpful for those times when the body can mistake thirst for hunger. A little unsweetened tea or a lemon can be mixed with some of the water for a health conscious drink with a little more flavor.

A lot of empty calories are consumed in the form of sugar and alcohol. These items have become so ingrained into human consumption that people can hardly go a day without eating them. They aren’t necessary for survival and will only be a hindrance in the quest to get a healthy body that is free of toxins. For the duration of the detoxification, avoid these two items.

The body needs protein and fiber for nutrients, muscle growth, and regularity. The sources of these items during the detox diet can vary, depending on whether the dieter is an omnivore or a vegan or vegetarian. Lean meats such as chicken and fish are great protein sources, while nuts and legumes are good animal free options. Fiber can be found in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Don’t bother with the refined, white grains, as they’ll just be adding more unnecessary sugar to the diet.

For vegetables that go the extra mile in detoxifying the body, don’t hold back on eating the ones that have a high water and fiber content. Spinach, asparagus, cucumbers, artichokes, and squash are a few vegetables that fit into this category and promote good liver and kidney health. These organs are essential for cleansing the blood and getting rid of waste and toxins.

The body can still take in fats during the detox diet, but they must be healthy ones. Fats obtained from fish and nuts will be ideal because they are good for the heart, brain and bones. Avoid getting nuts that are covered in salt during the roasting process, because they will add to bloating in the body, which should be avoided when doing a 7 day detox diet.

The knowledge found here can be used to put together a 7 day detox diet that will remove all of the impurities of the body. The foods mentioned can cover all of the needed meals of the day, and snacks that may occur from time to time. Just take into account portion control when planning the diet and only eat as much as necessary.
